PATIENT COMPLAINTS - NJDA PEER REVIEW

If a patient is unhappy or unsatisfied with dental treatment rendered and seeks resolution through an independent entity, there are basically three avenues: legal action, the State Board of Dentistry, and the NJDA Peer Review.

NJDA Peer Review is a voluntary, non-punitive alternative dispute resolution mechanism. The NJDA Peer Review Council will accept complaints concerning the quality or appropriateness of care only. Each party must sign a consent form indicating their willingness to cooperate with the committee and accept its decision as binding and enforceable under New Jersey law.

If you would like to speak to someone at NJDA about the Peer Review process, or would like to register a complaint, please call the NJDA Dental Care Programs Department at 732-821-9400, or click here to download a Request for Mediation form.
