The identification of human remains is a team effort. Trained forensic pathologists, forensic finger print analysts, forensic DNA scientists, forensic anthropologists and forensic dentists can all be utilized in the identification process.
This course will walk the participant step by step through the protocols and procedures utilized to identify human remains.
- From individual homicides to mass disasters, your expert course presenters will delve into their own experiences on the front lines of forensic science to provide the participant with a real-world view of the identification process from start to finish.
- The importance of having state (NJDA ID TEAM) and federal ID teams (DMORT) properly trained and ready to mobilize should a mass disaster occur will be discussed, as well as the educational pathways participants can take to obtain credentials that would be asked for in order to participate as a team member should the ID team need to be utilized moving forward.
