
Course: Infectious Disease Control for Staff
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide mandatory education in Infection Control for dental staff and hygienists. It will provide review of microbiology, disinfection techniques, OSHA review and current infectious disease challenges.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify pathogens commonly found in a dental office.
- Participants will be able to identify disinfection techniques that are safe and effective.
- Participants will understand the challenges with current and future infectious diseases like SARS-CoV-2.
Speaker: Meredith Blitz, DDS
Speaker Bio: Dr. Blitz graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1991. She subsequently graduated from Columbia University's School of Dental and Oral Surgery with her dental degree. She completed her Oral and Maxillofacial specialty training at the East Orange Veterans Hospital. She then obtained her Board Certification through ABOMS in 2002. For the past 23 years Dr. Blitz has been working in private practice and hospital-based oral surgery.
