COVID-19 Vaccinations
Governor Murphy announced that New Jersey will administer first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine beginning Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Initially, the vaccine will be available only at 6 acute care hospital facilities that have been identified as Points of Dispensing (“POD”).

Eligibility – During Phase 1A, individuals eligible to receive vaccination include persons serving in healthcare settings who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious material and are unable to work at home. Those persons include licensed dentists and staff who work in dental offices.

Prioritization – During the first four weeks that vaccines are made available to POD’s, they may vaccinate only their own personnel, starting with those at highest risk, which may include hospital-based dentists. Within four weeks of receiving vaccines, POD’s are responsible for providing vaccinating services to non-hospital-based healthcare providers and their staffs. We will notify our members when dental offices are permitted access. To review a memorandum currently released by the New Jersey Department of Health, click here.
