Essex County’s Dr. Renee Arace Installed As NJDA President

Dr. Arace is the 154th President in the history of NJDA (founded in 1870). Dr. Elisa Velazquez will work alongside Dr. Arace as the President-Elect with Dr. Amit Vora (Vice President), Dr. Antoinette Tauk (Treasurer) and Dr. Andrew Dietz (Secretary), Dr. Ed Tirpack (Speaker of the House) and Dr. Harvey Nisselson (Editor) completing her Officers.

North Brunswick, NJ - The New Jersey Dental Association installed Dr. Renee Arace as its next President on Wednesday, June 7 at the organization’s Semi-Annual House of Delegates Meeting.

Dr. Arace is the 154th President in the history of NJDA (founded in 1870).  Dr. Elisa Velazquez will work alongside Dr. Arace as the President-Elect with Dr. Amit Vora (Vice President), Dr. Antoinette Tauk (Treasurer) and Dr. Andrew Dietz (Secretary), Dr. Ed Tirpack (Speaker of the House) and Dr. Harvey Nisselson (Editor) completing her Officers.  

"Organized dentistry has had such a positive and significant impact in my life and career that I feel the utmost responsibility to give back," said Dr. Arace. "I hope to energize, inspire and empower dental professionals around New Jersey to get involved, build relationships, and engage with NJDA's member resources during my term as President."

Dr. Arace joined the ADA as a student member while at Fairleigh Dickenson University School of Dental Medicine in 1984 and has been active in organized dentistry ever since.  She has held numerous leadership positions within NJDA and is a past President of the Essex County Dental Society (2000-01).  Her efforts include ten years on the NJDA Council on Annual Session (1989-99) and four years as its chairperson (2016-20). She also has experience on the Council on Membership (1992-93), Council on Dental Education (2004-09), as well as the CE Committee and Non-Dues Revenue Committee (2018-20). She has represented Essex County Dental Society as a Delegate to NJDA’s House of Delegates since 1989 and was the ECDS Trustee to the NJDA Board of Trustees for four years (2016-20).  She has represented New Jersey as an ADA Delegate and is a proud contributor to ADPAC & NJPAC.

In addition to her career-long involvement with NJDA, Dr. Arace has served as the President of the Fauchard Dental Society of NJ (1997-99) and as an American College of Dentists Fellow in 2002.

Dr. Arace has been providing the West Orange and Verona communities with general and cosmetic dentistry at her practice in West Orange since 1995.  She spent 15 years offering general dental services to the underserved members of her community as the Belleville Township Dentist from 1990-2005.  During that time, she performed annual oral health screenings in parochial and township schools, toddler and mothers’ oral health wellness educational sessions and oral cancer screenings for senior citizens.

Dr. Arace graduated from Fairleigh Dickenson University School of Dental Medicine in 1987. During her time at FDU she was the NIDR Recipient of Student Research Fellowship (1985-87).

Dr. Arace and her husband Dorian enjoy boating and lakefront living at their home in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey.
