MATE Act Goes Into Effect June 27

Controlled substance prescribers must complete 8 hours of one-time training on safe controlled substance prescribing as a condition of receiving or renewing a DEA registration.

The MATE Act is a new federal law that requires controlled substance prescribers to complete 8 hours of one-time training on safe controlled substance prescribing as a condition of receiving or renewing a DEA registration. 

The additional training hours are required for all schedule II, III, IV, and V controlled substance prescribers who apply for or renew a DEA registration on or after June 27, 2023.
