The NJDA has designed this Series to make the New Jersey State mandated continuing education courses convenient and easily accessible at a low price. Each mandated course is offered VIRTUALLY three (3) times in 2024 (from April through September). Each course is scheduled on different days/times to work around your busy schedule.

Mandated Requirements for the November 2023- October 2025 Licensure Period
The New Jersey State Board of Dentistry requires the mandatory completion of forty (40) hours of continuing education for license renewal, which takes place every two years. For registration renewal beginning on November 1, 2023, the following 10 hours must be completed as part of the 40 required hours.
- One Hour in Prescription Opioid Drugs
- Two Hours in Preventing and Controlling Infectious Diseases
- Three Hours of Pharmacology and Internal Medicine
- One Hour in Professional Ethics and NJ Law Concerning the Practice of Dentistry
- Three Hours with Practical Hands-On Certification for CPR
- PLEASE NOTE: CPR is NOT included in this series but we offer a convenient solution for dentists and their staff available on our website.
- Courses are offered monthly at NJDA Headquarters
- Blended Learning Courses are offered monthly- complete the lecture and testing requirements online followed by completion of a hands-on testing at NJDA Headquarters
- Schedule a Private Program at your practice (minimum 6 attendees required) - for the same low member price!
- Merge with another practice to offer CPR near your location
- Hispanic Speaking program available
Although HIPAA Compliance is regulated by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and enforced by the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) it is NOT A LICENSURE REQUIREMENT. Practitioners are, however, required to be updated. The NJDA has elected to add this program into our Licensure Requirement Series offerings.
