The New Jersey Dental Association is the voice of the dental profession and a strong proponent of oral health in the state. Members are part of a vibrant community of dentists encompassing 12 local dental societies as well as the American Dental Association. Members engage in educational programs, have access to dentist-centric relationships and tools to navigate the business of dentistry and their careers, as well as benefit from dedicated advocacy that protects the interests of the profession. The organization is run by member-dentists with the support of a team of professionals at NJDA Headquarters. NJDA members never practice alone!

Call to Action: Apply to Serve on a New Jersey State Board

NJDA is encouraging qualified members to consider applying to serve on the New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners, a Governor-appointed state board that oversees licensure standards, educational requirements, and professional regulation related to radiologic technology.

The New Jersey Dental Association is encouraging qualified members to consider applying to serve on the New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners, a Governor-appointed state board that oversees licensure standards, educational requirements, and professional regulation related to radiologic technology in New Jersey.

Regulatory Basis for Dental Representation

The structure and membership of the Board are established in New Jersey statute. Under N.J.S.A. 26:2D-28, the Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners is required to include representatives from multiple health professions, including one licensed dentist who has actively engaged in the practice of dentistry for at least five (5) years.

This statutory seat ensures that dentistry has a formal role in shaping radiologic standards and policies that directly affect dental X-ray practice and patient safety.

At this time, the dentist member position is vacant.

Serving on this Board allows dentists to:

· Represent the profession in state-level regulatory and licensure discussions

· Provide clinical expertise on issues related to dental radiography and radiation safety
