Helping Members Succeed
The New Jersey Dental Association is the voice of the dental profession and a strong proponent of oral health in the state. Members are part of a vibrant community of dentists encompassing 12 local dental societies as well as the American Dental Association. Members engage in educational programs, have access to dentist-centric relationships and tools to navigate the business of dentistry and their careers, as well as benefit from dedicated advocacy that protects the interests of the profession. The organization is run by member-dentists with the support of a team of professionals at NJDA Headquarters. NJDA members never practice alone!

Dr. P. David Gleaner Recognized By Hudson County Dental Society

Let's meet another outstanding member of the 2025 class of NJDA Member Recognition Award Recipients. The next member-dentist we’re spotlighting is Dr. P. David Gleaner from Hudson County Dental Society.
Dr. P. David Gleaner’s journey into dentistry began in Hudson County, New Jersey, and, fittingly, his passion for the profession took root at an early age. According to his parents, Dr. Gleaner declared his intention to become a dentist at just eight years old—a childhood dream that would ultimately define his life’s work. He pursued his dental education at Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry, earning his DMD as a member of the Class of 1986.
Following graduation, Dr. Gleaner began his professional career in Bayonne, New Jersey, where he established his private practice in November 1987. For nearly four decades, he has provided comprehensive dental care to generations of families in his community. His long-standing commitment to his patients and the continuity of his practice reflect a deep sense of loyalty, integrity, and devotion to the people he serves.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Gleaner has been a passionate advocate for community outreach and access to care. He has played an integral role in the Give Kids a Smile program in Hudson County for many years, volunteering his time and expertise to ensure that children receive the dental attention they need and deserve. His dedication to this initiative exemplifies his belief that dentistry is not only a profession but also a means of giving back to others.
Dr. Gleaner is quick to credit his success to those who have supported him along the way. He often reflects with gratitude on the influence of his parents—of blessed memory—and his wife, whose encouragement and steadfast support have been instrumental throughout his 38-year career.
Colleagues describe Dr. Gleaner as humble, compassionate, and unwaveringly dedicated to his patients and peers. While he may modestly shy away from self-congratulation, his decades of service, leadership, and mentorship stand as a testament to his enduring impact on the dental profession and the Hudson County community he so proudly serves.
