Dr. Jason Rosenfeld Recognized Posthumously By Passaic County Dental Society
Our last outstanding dentist of the inaugural class of NJDA Member Recognition Award Recipients is Dr. Jason Rosenfeld, who is recognized posthumously by the Passaic County Dental Society.
Dr. Jason Rosenfeld was a pillar of the dental community, a compassionate caregiver, and a dedicated advocate for his profession and patients. For over two decades, he specialized in treating infants, children, teens, and special-needs patients in the Kinnelon/Butler area, earning the trust of countless families.
A native New Yorker, Dr. Rosenfeld graduated cum laude from Washington University, where he was elected to several prestigious honor societies. He earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from Boston University’s Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry, serving as president of the Alpha Omega Fraternity and receiving recognition for his volunteer work with at-risk youth. His passion for pediatric dentistry led him to the University of Connecticut Pediatric Dental Residency Program, where he was named chief resident.
Beyond his private practice, Dr. Rosenfeld was a clinical attending pediatric dental instructor at Columbia University’s St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital, mentoring students and overseeing their progress. His expertise in diagnosing complex cases and treating special-needs and phobic patients distinguished him in the field. Many families traveled great distances for his care, and his loyal patients often stayed with him well into adulthood.
A leader in organized dentistry, Dr. Rosenfeld served multiple terms as president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer of the Passaic County Dental Society. When no one else stepped up, he took on the role of president, demonstrating his commitment to the organization. He was also a fierce advocate for women in dentistry, supporting their advancement into leadership roles.
His dedication to service extended beyond his practice. Dr. Rosenfeld chaired Children’s Dental Health Month, participated in Give Kids a Smile, and volunteered with Healing the Children in the Dominican Republic. He also assisted in the identification of 9/11 victims at Bellevue Hospital, a testament to his selflessness.
Dr. Rosenfeld received numerous accolades, including the NJDA President Recognition Award for exceptional community service. He was frequently recognized as one of New Jersey’s Favorite Kids Docs and a Top Pediatric Dentist.
More than a respected dentist and leader, Dr. Rosenfeld was a warm and jovial presence, a trusted colleague, and a beloved friend. His legacy as a compassionate caregiver and advocate will continue to inspire those who knew him. He is deeply missed.
