New Jersey Dental Foundation Issues First Grant & Scholarships
The New Jersey Dental Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients from its first-ever grant and scholarship application cycle.
The NJDF, a non-profit affiliated with the New Jersey Dental Association, began raising funds for deserving charitable and educational projects in 2025. This year, the NJDF is proud to award one grant and two scholarships.
The NJDF is supporting the KinderSmile Foundation of Bloomfield, NJ with a grant. The funds will be used to support its "First Smile Initiative: Perinatal Health and Wellness Program Community Baby Shower" that will focus on increasing access to perinatal oral health education, establishing a link to a permanent dental home, and empowering mothers as oral health ambassadors.
In addition, NJDF is awarding a pair of scholarships. Edmund Sage, a dental student from Somerset County, and Samantha Abdelbarry, a dental student from Monmouth County will receive the funds to help with tuition, fees, books, equipment, and other educational expenses related to their dental education.
"The NJDF board is excited to see the impact these scholarships and grant will have," said NJDF Chair Dr. Mario Ramos. "We hope that we are able to award even more projects and individuals in the future. Our work to support the NJFD mission is just getting started!"
