Prohibition of Wage Disclosure

Under a new law that went into effect on January 1st, NJ employers are prohibited from asking job applicants for their salary history, or their previous commission or benefits during the hiring process. Violations of this law can come with fines of up to $1,000 for a first offense, $5,000 for a second offense and $10,000 afterward.
